SACI Alumni Heritage Scholarship
The SACI Alumni Heritage Scholarship of $1,500 is awarded in the Fall and Spring term to the son or daughter of a SACI alum. Students must fulfill the same requirements as other SACI scholarship applicants. In addition, they must submit a statement indicating the name of the parent who attended SACI and the dates of his or her attendance. Applicants must submit all required materials by the scholarship deadlines (March 15 for the Fall Term, October 15 for the Spring Term). (Scholarship applicants who are not awarded the SACI Alumni Heritage Scholarship are automatically reviewed for other SACI scholarship awards.)
The Gillian Award
This scholarship is named after Gillian Tilbury, former wife of SACI founder Jules Maidoff. Gillian, deceased in 1984, was one of the key figures for SACI's birth. The Gillian Award is open to a female artist with demonstrated artistic achievement who will be attending in both the Fall and Spring terms. This award offers the unique opportunity to an aspiring fine artist to live and work in Florence, utilizing all the resources of SACI. The recipient receives a $3,000 tuition scholarship.
Anna K. Meredith Scholarships
The Anna K. Meredith Scholarship is an award of $2,000 for undergraduate study in a Fall or Spring term.
International Incentive Awards
The International Incentive Awards have been established by SACI to encourage participation in study abroad programs by members of traditionally underrepresented ethnic and racial groups and other minority groups. Applicants should be either sophomores or juniors with a demonstrated ability in the studio arts and with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Up to two scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded for the Fall and Spring terms.
Clare Brett Smith Scholarship
This scholarship was instituted by Clare Brett Smith, photographer, teacher, former board member of SACI, as well as founder of Aid to Artisans, a non-profit organization that helps artisan women world wide to develop their skills and careers.The Clare Brett Smith Scholarship awards $1,000 per term to a student in photography.
Lele Cassin Scholarship
Lele Cassin was a student of Fellini and former much loved teacher of documentary film at SACI. The Lele Cassin Scholarship, founded in his honor and loving memory, awards $1,000 per term to a student with ability in video production. Applicants should submit a short video (no longer than 15 minutes) of the applicant’s work.
Round Trip Tickets to Florence
Two free roundtrip tickets to Florence are made possible by an anonymous donor for students who attend SACI in the Spring term. Valid only on SACI’s Spring term group flight from New York, these tickets are awarded as part of the SACI scholarship competition.
