In 1975, SACI founder Jules Maidoff’s vision was to create the most stimulating and challenging experience for art students seeking to spend an important part of their education in the world famous city of Florence, Italy. The dream that lies at the heart of Studio Art Centers International – as evident in the name of the institution itself – is to bring together, within a haven of academic excellence, people from every part of the globe: the cultural exchange between students from all geographic regions is one we believe to be essential for the formation of artists, art historians, designers and art conservators. Our belief has always been that education in the arts should not be limited by political, ethnic or religious boundaries.
This is why SACI is deeply proud to have welcomed, over the course of the last 37 years, students from over 65 countries worldwide. From Norway to South Africa, from Australia to Mexico, from Japan to Egypt.
SACI has changed the lives and formation of thousands of talented individuals.
On the map above, all countries colored in red are those from which SACI has welcomed its alumni.
If you are from one of these countries and are considering applying to SACI, it would be our pleasure, whenever possible, to put you in contact with our alumni in your country, so that you may speak with them about what the SACI experience signified in their own formation.
If you are from one of the countries in white on the map above, SACI would be equally delighted to receive your application: what could be more exciting than you being the very first student to represent your country within our international community?
Whatever your geographic area may be, our admissions staff will always do its very best to assist you through the admissions process and answer any questions you may have. Please contact the SACI Admissions office at admissions@saci-florence.edu or call (1) 212-248-7225 during SACI New York business hours of 9-5 EST.
