
Those in this course study and employ contemporary art practices which are powerfully represented by the use of digital and video technologies. Students are encouraged to work on issues of contemporary relevance and to develop personal projects while learning time-based and interactive computer applications. All are encouraged to explore issues that can be applied to artistic research. Students are given an opportunity to create projects that utilize digital images, interactive animation, basic video, and sound. Artists and art critics are periodically invited to lecture on their work and meet with students. At the end of the Fall and Spring terms, students have the possibility of exhibiting their final projects in a professional gallery in Florence. No prior computer experience is necessary.
