"I recently graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with a BFA in painting. I spent a good portion of my time there developing skills and learning about traditional painting techniques. In the first semester of my senior year I decided to intensely focus on searching for and developing my personal voice as a painter. The results varied and it was, as I found out, a difficult and ongoing pursuit.

The paintings I have chosen to include are inspired by my travels. Whether I am going by train, bus, airplane, or car, I have always enjoyed looking out the window and watching the landscape go by like scenes from a narrative painting. In working from both life and memory I try to capture the uniqueness of my experiences."  Aaron Israel
