Eduardo Fausti (Fall Term 1993)

Photo of Eduardo Fausti"Most of my work involves the use of printmaking, papermaking and painting. I attempt to remind the viewer of his or her connection to the natural world - I often use solitary figures as stepping stones and a means to explore and investigate visually images from this world. Other images are inspired by direct observations of the environment - they mean to enhance peaceful and natural geographic settings, devoid of any signs of human intervention. I also use the written names of extinct species of plants. Other plant names represent the healing aspects of nature. My use of different languages is not meant to educate the viewer about a particular culture per se. Instead, it is used to illustrate a nexus between culture and nature, and to provoke consideration about the impact each has on the other." Eduardo Fausti
